The Well Encounter exists because we believe God meets us right where we are, just like He met the woman at the well in John 4.
Some will come with a deep relationship with the Lord, while some will come searching. Others may arrive carrying questions, disappointment, loneliness, or wounds from past experiences with faith or the Church.
We want each of them to experience the same thing: You are welcome here. You belong here. There is a place for you here at the Well. Our heart is not simply to encourage women to read the Bible. We want to cultivate a rhythm of returning to the Word daily—one chapter at a time—and create opportunities for women to experience what happens when Scripture becomes more than something they study and becomes a place where they encounter the living God.

In light of John 4, the woman at the well literally came face-to-face with Jesus, and that encounter transformed her life. This is why The Well Encounter is so meaningful—it invites women into that same kind of life-changing encounter with Christ through His Word each day.

At The Well Encounter, we believe we grow best when we don’t grow alone.
While our daily time in the Word is deeply personal, we were never meant to follow Jesus in isolation. Gathering with other women around the same chapter of Scripture is powerful—it makes space to listen, wrestle with the Word, share what God is revealing, pray for one another, and grow together.
In Acts 2, we see the early church devoted to God’s Word, fellowship, prayer, and sharing life together:
“They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer... All the believers were together and had everything in common.” — Acts 2:42, 44
This is part of the model we follow at The Well Encounter. We come to the Word individually, but we don’t stop there. We bring what we are learning into relationship with other women. We listen to one another. We learn from one another. We pray together. We encourage one another. Sometimes another woman’s perspective helps us see something in a chapter we might never have noticed on our own.
That’s why Circles are such an important part of The Well.
A Circle isn’t a class, and the Facilitator isn’t there to teach everyone what the chapter means. It is a safe place for women to engage God’s Word for themselves, allow the Holy Spirit to teach and reveal, and then come together to share what they are seeing and learning. You don’t need to know more about the Bible than everyone else to belong here. You don’t need to have all the answers to lead here. What matters is a willingness to consistently come to the Word, remain teachable, and walk alongside other women as we learn to know Jesus more through His Word.
Circles can gather through The Well, within a local church, or simply among women who want to open the Word and grow together. Whether you join an existing Circle or bring a few women together and start one where you are, the heart is the same: come to the Word individually and grow in the Word together.
